Error Reference

Common SpotiFLAC errors and fixes

Most SpotiFLAC problems fall into a small set of categories. Find your error message below and follow the fix steps.

"Song not found on any service"

No installed extension could locate the track across all configured providers.

Fix:

  • Try searching by track name instead of a link
  • Add more provider extensions from the Extension Store
  • The track may not be available on any currently installed provider
  • Check if the provider extension is online (not greyed out)

"Rate limited" or too many requests

A provider service has temporarily restricted requests from the app due to high usage volume.

Fix:

  • Wait 5–15 minutes before trying again
  • Reduce parallel download count in app settings
  • Switch to a different provider extension temporarily
  • Avoid downloading large playlists at once
📄

"Failed to fetch metadata"

The metadata service (lyrics, artwork, tags) could not be reached or returned an error.

Fix:

  • Check your internet connection
  • The metadata provider (e.g. LRCLIB) may be temporarily down
  • Try downloading without metadata and add it manually
  • Refresh the extension repository and reinstall the metadata extension

"Download failed" or fetch failed

The download could not be completed. This is usually a network issue or a provider that is temporarily unavailable.

Fix:

  • Check your internet connection and try again
  • The provider service may be down — try another provider extension
  • Restart the app and retry the download
  • Check if your antivirus is blocking the download
🟡

Extensions showing as offline

One or more extensions appear greyed out or marked offline in the Extension Store.

Fix:

  • Open Extension Store and tap Refresh on the repository
  • Remove and re-add the repository URL
  • The provider service behind the extension may be temporarily down
  • Check the GitHub repository for known outage notices
🔍

"No search providers yet"

SpotiFLAC has no search provider extension installed, so it cannot find any music.

Fix:

  • Open Extension Store → Repositories → Add Repository
  • Paste the official registry URL from the extensions page
  • Install at least one search provider extension
  • Return to the main screen and search again
🚫

503 error or service unavailable

A backend provider service returned a 503. This means the service is overloaded or down on their end.

Fix:

  • Wait and try again in 10–30 minutes
  • Switch to a different provider extension
  • This is a provider-side issue, not a SpotiFLAC bug
📁

"Failed to create SAF file" (Android)

SpotiFLAC could not write the file to the selected storage location on Android.

Fix:

  • Go to app Settings and re-select the download folder
  • Grant storage permission again in Android Settings
  • Try a different download location (internal storage vs SD card)

Full Reset

Complete reset guide for persistent issues

If none of the individual fixes above resolved your issue, follow this full reset sequence. This resolves the majority of persistent SpotiFLAC problems.

01

Close SpotiFLAC completely

Quit the app fully — don't just minimize it. On mobile, swipe it away from recent apps.

03

Remove all extension repositories

Open Extension Store → Repositories and remove all listed repos. This clears any corrupted repository cache.

04

Re-add the repository URL

Add the official registry URL fresh. See the extensions guide for the exact URL.

05

Reinstall your extensions

Install the search provider and any download providers you were using before. Do not install everything at once.

06

Test with a single track

Search for one track by name (not a link) to verify the app is working before downloading large collections.
